FULL GOSPEL MISSION - GUERNSEY

Encouragement

What If?

I'm writing this mostly to hopefully help others if they have regrets that occasionally trouble them.

The Lord's Desire

We don't live in church, we live among people, and though the church building has become a meeting place, the Lord desires to walk among people and demonstrate His grace and love for them.

Are God's purposes to be thwarted?  Will His purposes be fulfilled?

Hang on in there brothers and sisters if you are going through difficult times, they have a purpose and the Lord WILL bring you through. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Encouragement from Psalm 139

I was reciting Psalm 139 in my head and came to the part of the verse – “if I make my bed in hell”.  I thought, does it really say that, or have I got it wrong?, 'if I make my bed'!  I must check.  So of course later I checked. Yes, it says 'If I make MY bed'!

Besieged By Love

Sounds very much as though we are besieged, and I believe we are.

Poem - The Magic of Christmas

Poem, The Magic of Christmas, was composed by Sue Du Jardin for our Carol Service on 18th December 2022.

The Good Shepherd Cares

Then I thought about a sheep fallen into a pit, and asked, would the shepherd leave him there and say, it's your fault, you can stay there, and walk away. "No" definitely not.

Abiding Under The Shadow of His Wings

The Lord has given me a Word which follows on from abiding under the shadow of His wing, and I would like to share it with you as I believe it to be relevant for the church.

"One Another"

'One another' comes from the Greek word Allelon. It is relating to unity, love and humility.

I AM the true vine, my Father is the Husbandman.

I had been thinking in particular about the verse above, "Herein is my Father glorified, in that you bear much fruit" and that love, joy, peace, gentleness, meekness, longsuffering, etc., which are all wonderful things to have in one's life, and that this brings glory to God, in that all the glory is His.... who loved us, saved us and has given us the Holy Spirit. Just thinking on this; that this is His desire for all His children, and it is the direct consequence of all that the Lord Jesus has done for us, and how such a life glorifies God and is both blessed and a blessing.
