Hi Everyone.
Don and I hope you are all keeping well, and we are looking forward to returning to meeting together very soon.
I have been blessed doing a little study on “one another” in the Word, it was inspired by Pastor Paul Dando’s message that Don sent around earlier this week. (Great message, if you haven’t listened to it, I highly recommend it. Link below.)
“One another” comes from the Greek word Allelon. It is relating to unity, love and humility.
Just as Moses was given instructions how to build the tabernacle according to the pattern, and he was given the people with the skills to help him, the Lord has given us “one another” to build each other up.
Allelon is one word and we “one another” must become one, one with Christ and each other. Philippians 2:2 (Amplified Version) One mind, one love, one purpose.
Romans 12:10 (Amplified Version) Devoted to “one another” (committed members of one family).
John 13:34 Here we are told to love “one another” as Christ loves us.
In Romans 12:16 (Amplified Version) we are told to live in harmony with “one another”, not conceited, self important, don’t overestimate ourselves.
We are instructed in Romans 14:19 (Amplified Version) to pursue with enthusiasm, the things that make peace and build “one another up”. Also, 1 Peter 1:22 (Amplified Version) tells us to love “one another” always unselfishly seeking the best for “one another”.
We see in all these scriptures (and there are many more) all the fruit of the Spirit mentioned. Galatians 5:22,23. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. The fruit of the Spirit leads us into unity, love and humility (Allelon). All these fruits, or attributes, are for us to become (according to the pattern) the body of Christ.
As I mentioned earlier, Moses was given the pattern for the tabernacle, but we are in a greater covenant, as is mentioned in Hebrews 8:5 and 8:9 (Amplified Version) (I recommend reading the whole of this great chapter!)
Let us work together Brothers and Sisters to build up (one another) the body of Christ.
Much love to you all.
Lorraine
