FULL GOSPEL MISSION - GUERNSEY

The Good Shepherd Cares

Dear all

I was walking along the beach talking with the Lord. I didn't feel very happy with myself, as I thought I had "messed up". So, my thoughts went something like this:

If I have messed up and got myself into trouble, will He get me out?

Then I thought about a sheep fallen into a pit, and asked, would the shepherd leave him there and say, “it’s your fault, you can stay there”, and walk away. "No" definitely not.

Why? Well, of course we all know that a good shepherd looks after his sheep and cares for them, but not only that, the sheep is his money, it is valuable to him and cost him.

What a lovely picture. We are valuable to our good Shepherd, He has paid a huge price for us and He is not going to leave us in trouble, even if it is our own making. Obviously, not recommended, it hurts to fall into a pit. But our loving Saviour will bring us out and use it to teach us and demonstrate His love.

So, tonight, as I am once again examining my heart, asking the Lord, "have I gone wrong"? I know certainly that if I have, and I am humble before Him, He will get me out and use it to my good.

Why? Because I'm His treasure.

I am passing this on so that if any, like me, are not happy with themselves at times and are wondering if they’ve got themselves into a fix, you can be encouraged, because you as His child are His treasure, a great price was paid and He is not about to give up on us, even if we mess up.

Love in Jesus
