FULL GOSPEL MISSION - GUERNSEY

Besieged By Love

Those of us who have read and meditated on psalm 139 will have taken great comfort and may have already seen what I have, and will do my best to express:

Psalm 139 v 1 to 6 - I have highlighted some of the points below.
You compass my path
And my lying down
You know the words of my tongue
You have beset me behind and before
Laid your hand upon me

Sounds very much as though we are besieged, and I believe we are. But thankfully, not by enemy forces, the devil, demonic powers nor any other creature (Romans 8 v 31 - 39), but by a loving Heavenly Father who protects us, watches over us and is the lover of our souls.

(In this time of terrible war and trauma we pray for those in trouble, the Word of God is true and He is the lover of souls, and His own are secure in Him whatever it may appear to be like, and we can pray in the sure knowledge of His Love and compassion for all.)

Psalm 139 v 7 - 13 The psalmist says, where shall I flee from your presence?
Heaven - No - behold You
Hell - No - Behold You
and I love these words
(If) I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea.... ...
It's as though he is searching for words to cover every possible place and comes up with this beautiful phrase "the wings of the morning and the uttermost parts of the sea;" As far as I can possibly go, up, down or sideways!
V 10 even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me, and still not quite content that he has expressed all that is in his heart, the psalmist adds.
V 11 & 12 (If) I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light (are) both alike (to thee).
Just before in verse 10 - as far as I could possibly go! - There His hand shall lead me, and His right hand shall hold me - He sees and knows all that is happening to us, He is not in the dark, He IS light, and He is the one leading. It is like a blind man being led to his destination by a person that can see all the obstacles and pitfalls and leading him through. And as well as that, if we are feeling that we are going to fall, His right hand shall hold us, we won't topple!
He sees all, He is watching over us for good, the lover of our souls. No darkness can overtake Him, and He is a very present help in time of trouble. Psalm 46 v 1

When it seems as though we may be drowning in troubles and we think that the darkness would cover us - I think this is where the psalmist mind is when he says this and then adds - Even the night shall be light about me. He acknowledges the light of God, His Word to come about him in that situation as God sees all, His light is not interrupted or effected by darkness. The darkness and light are both alike to thee. And the psalmist has just said that there is nowhere to flee from His presence. Jonah tried it and was covered in the darkness of a fish and the Lord was there and when he yielded a whole large city was saved.

Isaiah 43 v 2 & 3
Speaks of when they pass through the waters He would be with them and the rivers would not overflow them and through the fire that they would not be burned, neither would the flame kindle upon them. He goes on to say that He gave Kingdoms for their sakes. This is spoken to the children of Israel but it also applies to us as His children. The principle and the Love of God to His children is always the same. Acts 15 v 14-17 He also has called us by His name and Ephesians 2 v 14 He has broken down the middle wall of partition between us 2 Corinthians 1 v 20 All the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, (in Jesus)
Hosea 1 v 10

Thankfully, in Jesus, we only have the blessings of God as He, that is, Jesus took away the curse. Collosians 2 v 14

We Have a WONDERFUL GOD

I'd like to finish with the scripture which I think expresses His goodness and love towards us wonderfully. His Love is expressed in many other places and ways, but perhaps this covers it.

Romans 8 v 32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

He has given us of His very best, He will give us anything else needful for our spiritual well being, but not limited to, because He loves us it is His good pleasure to bless us and everything else is tiny by comparison, indeed cannot be compared.

If we believe, our faith will rise beyond what we would have thought possible.
(Philippians 4:13 KJV) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I hope you are blessed with this.

Love in Jesus
