FULL GOSPEL MISSION - GUERNSEY

Confess the Word of God.

Hello all,

Just thought I would share a few thoughts with you.

I have been richly blessed in the Lord in many ways during this difficult time, as I am sure all of you also.

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession (or confession), Christ Jesus. Hebrews 3:1.

Apostle means “sent one”.  So, Jesus has been sent from God to do something for us; to serve as our High Priest.   Jesus is authorised to administer, to execute, to implement and to carry into effect.  As we see in Hebrews 3:1, He is the High Priest of our confession.  He has been sent to put into effect, to execute and carry out the words that we say.

There is a good chance that you, like me, have been speaking words of how you feel instead of words of faith.  If for example, if I speak sickness, what is He going to do with that?  That’s contrary to The Word; therefore, He cannot execute that.  He is not High Priest over sickness.  If I am saying, “I am so weak and tired”, He cannot carry that out.  The Word says, “let the weak say I am strong”.  The moment I say that, Jesus can administer strength.  He is not going to administer sickness, disease, poverty, or sin etc.  He defeated all that and is High Priest over deliverance, righteousness, and freedom.  Speak words of victory, not defeat; words that He as High Priest has been ordained by God to bring to pass.

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”

Deuteronomy 30:19 “Choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”

I know this is not a new subject and I have talked about it before, but it’s taking on more and more importance in my life.  I need to be renewed in the spirit of my mind.  I am learning to remove the focus from the difficult and negative circumstances we face, to the truth of the Word of God, so that I can actively position myself to what God has already given.  If not, I will not experience it.

Jesus said “it is finished”.  In the New Covenant, in Christ Jesus, as we recognise who we are in Him, it’s a case of thanking Him, accepting and taking all He accomplished for us.  We are joint heirs with Him.  Our real life is in the Spirit with the DNA of the new nature.

2 Peter 1:3-4  “His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given unto us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Be anxious for nothing.  In the original grammar is written as a commandment to be obeyed.  So, God is telling us not to worry, but rather to release everything into the hands of God.  To make that choice is not necessarily easy but is the only way to that peace that passes understanding.  If He commands us not to worry, it must be that He wants us to trust and believe Him to be the answer and control of every situation.  What a wonderful Lord who loves us so much!

In recent months I have managed, not always straight away, to put this into practice and have seen the Lord move in wonderful ways, and so much better than I could have thought.  It takes the stress out of life completely.  We need to learn to enter into that finished work He accomplished for us on the cross.  His Word alone is truth.  I pray often that the eyes of our understanding be enlightened that we may know what is the hope of His calling, what is the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the Saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe.

I hope this encourages you.  We have such a loving father who cares so much.

Vreni
